Cookie policy

This page explains what this website stores on your device. The short version: only what is needed to make the site work. We do not track you, and we do not use advertising cookies.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. Some are necessary — they remember that you are signed in, or that you dismissed a message. Others exist to follow what you do across websites so that advertising can be targeted at you.
UK law treats those two very differently. A website may set a strictly necessary cookie without asking. Anything else — analytics, advertising, embedded third-party content — needs your consent before it is set, not after.
What this site uses
This site sets no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party tracking of any kind. In practice an ordinary visitor arrives, reads the site and leaves without anything being stored at all.
If we ever add analytics, an embedded map, a video or live chat, each of those will be listed here and you will be asked before anything is set.
Why you may not see a cookie banner
Because there is nothing to consent to. A banner is required when a site wants to set storage that is not strictly necessary. We do not, so asking would be theatre.
If that changes — if we add analytics, or embed a map so you can find us — this page will be updated and you will be asked properly, before anything is set.
Third-party content
Some things cannot be embedded without handing data to someone else. An embedded Google Map tells Google you visited the page. A YouTube player does the same. Where we need something like that, we will either load it only after you agree, or link out to it instead so the choice stays yours.
Controlling cookies yourself
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, for this site or for all sites. Every major browser has this under privacy or security settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of a site working, though on this site it will not affect anything you can see.
If you would rather not be tracked anywhere, most browsers now block third-party cookies by default, and private browsing discards everything when you close the window.
